About Me
Yohana
Executive Secretary & Co-founder
My name is Yohana, born and raised in Sanawari Village in the Arumeru District of Arusha, Tanzania. I am the fifth of ten children, raised by both my mother and father, whose dedication to our well-being and education shaped my values and outlook on life. Even in the face of many hardships, my parents—especially my mother—taught me that education is the strongest weapon for creating a better future.
As a proud member of the Maasai community, I deeply value my cultural roots. However, I’ve also witnessed the struggles that many within my community—particularly women and orphaned children—continue to face. These experiences inspired me to pursue education not just for myself, but as a tool to uplift and empower others who are too often left behind.
